A local bar/restaurant run by a feuding husband and wife find themselves and their business threatened by a not so bright group of extortionists. With the help of their patrons who wish to preserve their quiet mode of patronage and a motor cycle riding stranger, they take the fight directly back to the villains with some non conventional approaches.

Zeko, a barber and ex-soldier suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, invites his brother Braco and his friend Švabo to Eid festivities. He intends to take advantage of the festive mood and ask his brother, a gambler and alcoholic, to change his ways. Braco doesn’t want to listen and will not take the conversation seriously. Zeko puts a razor under his brother’s neck, forcing him to promise he will change; furious, Braco leaves, telling Zeko he will never see him again, while Švabo suggests that Zeko see a psychiatrist. Alone, without his only friend and his brother, Zeko decides to kill himself – until Muki, a young man selling books door-to-door, stops him.

A man who decides to divorce from his wife goes to lawyer. However he quickly changes his mind in the office, which annoys the lawyer who then tries to separate them.

In a way of protesting for inhuman living conditions and the shortage of medications caused by the disintegration of Yugoslavia and its sanctions, a doctor in a hospital decides to close his clinic for mental illness. His wish is to return the patients to their homes or give them to someone who is willing to accept them temporarily.

Based on a short story of Ivo Andrić, famous Yugoslav Nobel Prize winner, this film is set in Sarajevo during WW2. Mento is a humble, poor Jew who runs a caffe. While glossed over planes and bomb Serbia, these two ordinary man, coincidentally ignorant of the events, marathon busy digging wells to a sardonic but humorous way, dissolve pitful weight and personal lives. Besides well-men unaware of the historical moment and one Valjevo village lives almost bizarre, peacetime everyday, until the sound of explosions killer time approaching.
