Herbert and Marge Gage buy an old farmhouse in Connecticut, only to discover that two of the late owner’s heirs have the legal right to live there. Shortly after the Gages and their daughters move in, Jonathan Rockwood and his wife arrive to claim that right under their relative’s will. Inevitably, tensions arise as the two families adjust to life under one roof.
