A cold and calculating high school student falls in love for the first time with a professor, but he's dying of brain cancer.

Tamura Masakazu plays Shohei Yamauchi, a freelance reporter obsessed with finding out the truth about a traffic accident in which his beloved daughter died. Judging by the photo of the accident, which appeared in the news described by photojournalists as "one coincidence in a hundred thousand", and the survivor's testimony that "I saw a red fireball" immediately before the accident, the circumstances of the accident are questionable. The film is based on a late masterpiece by Seicho Matsumoto.

When a major bank is caught paying off a corporate extortionist, the media and prosecutors begin to dig, breaking open a money-and-favours scandal that threatens to rock the entire structure of business and government to its core. While the bank's top executives continue to vacillate, a quartet of middle-management reformers, led by straight-arrow Kitano (Koji Yakusho), decide to stage a boardroom coup and install a new, clean management team. Based on novel 1962 "Kyukei no Koya" by Seicho Matsumoto. A serial murder occurs around the heroine Kumiko because she finds evidence that her father, who should have died, was "alive." Set in 1945, near the end of WW II, Kenichiro Nogami is reported to have died in a Swiss hospital. In fact, he is working behind the scenes to save Japan from destruction. For this cause, Kenichiro Nogami has left behind his wife and nation to work in hiding.

In 1984, an up-and-coming writer named Aida Taiju has her career crushed by off-hand criticism from an established author, Higashijujo-sensei. They end up holed up writing in the same hotel historically favoured by authors in the Jimbocho publishing district. Swearing revenge, Taiju makes Higashijujo miss his writing deadline by pretending to be a different person, and entangles her editor into the ruse. They become entangled in a long-lasting feud of revenge where Taiju uses her acting background and pretends to be various different women in order to have her revenge on Higashijujo or blackmail him. Based on a novel by Asako Yuzuki from 2012.
