The film takes place in Russia, America and Japan. The main character Vladimir Ognev is the son of a family of immigrants from Russia. in the early 2000s, he lives and studies in the USA. he has a brilliant scientific career and a happy personal life. after defending his dissertation, Vladimir receives an offer from the UN special department to study the scenario: how will humanity react if it finds out that an alien civilization exists and has been in constant contact with us for many years? over time, Vladimir realizes that this scenario is not as fantastic as it seems. now the future of the earth depends on his work.

The film consists of four short stories, each of which tells about the love story of the main character throughout her life. A simple, fragile girl turns out to be stronger and more courageous than many men around her.

An autobiographical story, set in the city of Grozny in 1994 — its last peaceful year before the outbreak of the First Chechen War, Russia. It follows the life of one family and the tight-knit community of a single courtyard — a place full of warmth, quiet beauty, and the haunting presence of what was to come.

When deciding for a child, a parent often does as he is comfortable with. The child agrees, afraid to hurt the parent, but time will pass, he will mature and at some point he will decide for himself. Moscow, summer of 1953. Tanya, an eleven-year old girl, meets a boy, Mitya. Mitya and his family have just returned from exile in the Russian Far East. Tanya learns that Mitya had to leave behind his best friend, a dog called Hector. Mitya is eager for Hector to join him in Moscow, but the adults declare it impossible - a large city is no place for a dog. In an attempt to prove the adults wrong and convince them to bring over Hector, Mitya and Tanya decide to create the perfect home for him - a dog's paradise in an empty sealed room they find in the building...
