A recalcitrant thief vies with a duplicitous Mongol ruler for the hand of a beautiful princess.

How they got from New York City to the Canadian wilds is another story.

Helen Canfield leaps from the pleasure yacht of her philandering husband and is picked up by natives of a South Seas island. There she falls in love with missionary Paul Mayne and gives birth to her husband's baby. When Canfield returns for her, Paul reluctantly gives her up. During a storm, however, the husband is drowned, and the lovers are then reunited.

The irrepressible William, however, soon initiates a flirtation with the captain's wife and is thrown overboard. He swims to shore, landing on a rough and isolated stretch of the Nova Scotia coast, where he is found half-dead and nursed back to health by Hagar Levanti.

Larry O'Neil, a ship's cook, finds and befriends stowaway Lois Austin, who is a fugitive from a murder charge. The ship's captain, Klodel, also finds her and forces her to do his will as he has received a cablegram and knows she is hunted.

Dorothy Reid -- who before her marriage to ill-fated screen idol Wallace Reid was better known as Dorothy Davenport -- was both producer and star of Satin Woman. After the death of her husband from drug abuse in 1923, Davenport dedicated herself to helping others avoid the pitfalls of modern life by turning out a series of cautionary film fables. In Satin Woman, she endeavored to warn society women not to neglect their families for the sake of fads, foibles, and handsome younger men.

The English adventurer Tom Lingard gets involved with islanders on a South Seas island, and he also gets involved with Lady Edith and Mr. Travers, a sailing English couple. Tom has an unexpected love affair with Edith and while they are having this affair, Lady Edith husband's boat is destroyed and he is killed.

Sasha Larianoff lives on Rocking Moon Island where she runs a blue fox farm with the help of Gary Tynan. Nash, a trader, has a mortgage on the farm, and Sasha is hoping to pay it off with the season's receipts. But then Sasha's fox pelts disappear, as does Gary. Nash, who is in love with Sasha himself, suggests that Gary is not the fine, upstanding man he appeared to be. This, of course, is untrue -- Gary has been trapped and tied up.

Before a planned African expedition, a man's fiancée worries her father's guest plans to steal one of her father's rubies. The couple are kidnapped and held prisoner at a mysterious, creepy house. Strange things are afoot at Satan's house.
