Despite its visual austerity, Snow White is haunted by the arresting images with which it begins – infamous black-and-white photographs of Walser lying dead in the snow after his heart attack outside a Swiss asylum at the age of seventy-eight, a strange realization of the “death of the author” so central to postmodern literary criticism.

Esther receives an anonymous diary, written 20 years ago by a young girl in hospital. The girl’s story resonates deeply with Esther, who is still suffering from a recent break-up. Supported by her best friend Elena, Esther becomes obsessed with finding the diary’s mysterious author and getting to know what became of her. Her investigation turns into a genuine introspective journey for Esther to heal, move on with her past and eventually come back to life.

When almost everyone in their senses (or in their powers to do so so) has left a Western European Capital of millions of people under the threat of a colliding commet, a bar stays open in defyance. Two lovers are too self absorbed but not so much so that between drinks they cannot realise the barmen's infatuation with the lost girl who thinks she's just his last plaything and keeps playing jukebox songs (American/French-Italian/American) to that effect.

Ana is a child, girl, adult, tall, fat, thin... Ana is the part of all of us that once in a while wakes up without knowing who she is. That conscious amnesia that propels us to travel, question, look without tiring even though it might not be clear who or what we might find.
