On Aug. 25-26, 2012, the world’s largest anime song event, “Animelo Summer Live 2012 - INFINITY∞-”, was held at the Saitama Super Arena. The event celebrated its eighth year in 2012 as well as its highest attendance rate to date. In total over both days, more than 54,000 fans attended. The concert was over 10 hours long and included 78 artists with songs spanning 40 series. Each day of the concert comes on two Blu-ray disks or three DVD disks.

Although μ's, the defending champions of the school idol tournament, plans to dissolve their group after the graduation of their senior members, they receive news that leads them to holding a concert event! The 9 girls continue to learn and grow in this new and unfamiliar world. What is the last thing that these girls can do as school idols? With the clock ticking, what kind of meaning will the μ's members find in performing the most exciting live performance?

While Rena and Maki recover from their injuries, the other SORD members jet off overseas for a school trip. Within moments of their arrival, though, the Mihama gang are pulled into a manhunt for a SORD deserter, assisted by student Sylvia and Velvet of St. Aile's International School. Marika Katou, a third year student at Hakuho Girls' Academy, is a legitimate space pirate with a Letter of Marque. Between her studies, leading her school's space yacht club, working part time at Cafe Lamp, and being the captain of the space pirate ship Bentenmaru, Marika's days are very busy. One day, Marika gets a job to rob a high-class passenger ship, and she discovers that on the passenger list is Kanata Mugen, a boy who owns a "galaxy pass". Thus, an adventure featuring a hyperspace race between pirates and one young boy begins.

μ's First Love Live! is a DVD/Blu-Ray disc of μ's live concert that took place in Yokohama BLITZ, Japan on February 19, 2012. The DVD was released on November 21, 2012.

The story centers on the "Pole Dance Japan Cup" competition, where protagonist Hinano Hoshikita and her friends will compete as the Galaxy Princesses. They will compete with the competition's four-time champion team, Aile d'Ange.
