Ettore, a young boy in Sicily in the 50's, is surrounded by women and is always surprised by what is happening around him. In Milan a few years later Ettore is once again the center of attention and the hip crowd.

Police officer Antonio is murdered by Eli, a girl of few words; Arm, a boy struggling with the problems of adolescence; and French, a man of faith and a heavy smoker. Commissioner D'Angelo, who finds the body on the banks of the Po River, arrests the three alleged murderers, but lacks any conclusive evidence.

It is a completely human sacred story that the Sacro Monte di Varallo, in the masterpieces of Gaudenzio Ferrari, Tanzio da Varallo, Gherardini, Morazzone, Ceranino, delivers to us, and which the cinematographic gaze, as if on an uphill climb, struggles to grasp. You get closer to where the visitor's eyes cannot reach, beyond the grates, the glass, the borders that protect and keep away these statues/paintings/people, you get confused among them, inhabiting their houses/chapels and meeting one by one all the characters of this petrified crowd.

Luigi Ghirri's final project, unfortunately unrealized, was a "house of the seasons": to purchase a farmhouse, which appears in the photographer's last works, near his home in Roncocesi, and to stage exhibitions there, each linked to the current season, thus creating a close connection between natural time and artistic time. This interrupted project inspired "Pink Desert," in which the camera 'visits' a series of landscapes photographed by Ghirri according to the changing seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, and Nocturnal Spring. Aleksandr Sokurov narrates each season depicted in the film, focusing in narrative form on Luigi Ghirri's sense of the cyclical nature of time.

La nave sul monte is the opening song on the album È bello perdersi by the band Extraliscio, and their opening number for all their concerts. Highly symbolic, it celebrates the beauty of the imagination and impossible dreams that come true, the effort that goes into them, the wait, the joy at last. It's a film about songs that is openly inspired by Werner Herzog's masterpiece Fitzcarraldo and revisits the choir "Le Mystère des Voix Bulgares", here in the form of a colorful troupe of dancers from Romagna.

Fishing, more than anything else, is the place where man finds life. This is true of the Delta of the Po river, where the story of fishing gives its very meaning to the river and the river gives its very meaning to the lives of those fishermen, whose daily life becomes absolute. A diptych composed by: "Il pesce siluro è innocente" (60') - Two experienced eel fishermen in the Goro inlet; a young woman and a man dedicated to harvesting clams and mussels; a fisherman who raises show fish along the river canals. "Per soli uomini" (83') - Along the Po di Maistra, in the Ca'Pisani area, in one of the valleys the river creates at its mouth, live three men dedicated to fish farming.
