Dilip Kumar in Triple Role

The life of an impoverished male undergoes drastic changes after he gets his siblings married.

After disappearing without a trace 18 years ago, Prince Naresh (Dev Anand) returns to his village as commoner Dilip Singh, only to discover that tragedy has befallen his family and that his adversary (Premnath) is close to ascending the throne. In a triple cross, the nobleman hatches a plan to take his rightful place as the king. Saira Banu plays Naresh's love interest, and Durga Khote portrays his mother in this entertaining yarn.

Shyam works for Mr. Choudhry, and lives in a small village in India with his mother. Ranjeet, Shyam's childhood friend, returns from overseas, and all are overjoyed to see him back. Ranjeet and Shyam have a lot in common: Both are handsome, dedicated, pleasant and polite; Both share the same date of birth; and both also love the same woman, Barkha. It is the last similarity that causes friction between the two, so much so that Shyam is accused of impregnanting another woman, Roopa, and charged with stealing money.
