Rock is a beautiful style of music, with many artists and songs, but how did this classic style of music come about?

In 1971, four college students got together to form a rock band. Since then, that certain band called Queen have released 26 albums and sold over 300 million records worldwide. The popularity of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon is stronger than ever 40 years on. But it was no bed of roses. No pleasure cruise. Queen had their share of kicks in the face, but they came through and this is how they did it, set against the backdrop of brilliant music and stunning live performances from every corner of the globe. The DVD peaked at number one in UK, with sales of more than 90,000 copies. It was also the best selling DVD of the year in 2002. It was also number one in USA (platinum), Germany (gold), Spain and other countries. It was also 4 times platinum in Australia, 3 times platinum in Canada, platinum in Poland, and other places.

This DVDs (Greatest Flix I and II) were the very first version of Queen's "Greatest Hits" on DVD. Even though most people consider them a bootleg, on the original Queen Web site they were listed as official. It's a great collection, with great sound and the original videos (some of them were later changed).

On 27 July 1986, Queen performed the largest-ever stadium concert at the Népstadion in Budapest in front of 80,000 ecstatic fans. The concert was part of the famed Magic Tour, which was the last time the band toured with lead singer Freddie Mercury.

Queen's performance at Live Aid at Wembley Stadium in 1985 is often regarded as rock's greatest live performance of all time. Their set lasted 21 minutes and consisted of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’, ‘Radio Ga Ga’, ‘Hammer To Fall’, ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’, ‘We Will Rock You’ and ‘We Are The Champions’. Mercury and May returned later on to perform a version of ‘Is This The World We Created…?’.

During the concerts, McCartney brought three generations of popular musicians together. The older generation included McCartney and the Wings, The Who and members of Procol Harum. The middle generation was represented by Queen and members of Led Zeppelin. This video is the first of a three volume documentary on the band.

For long-time fans, this may be the most outstanding concert by Queen. The reason? It gives a perfect overview of an early Queen presentation. The material, the costumes, and the performance of the members are really great and supported by the hilarious conversational approach of a young Freddie Mercury. In one of the last interviews, the singer Freddie Mercury said that the way he looked in those days was ridiculous; many would argue. The band looked very theatrical and outrageous. That's the way that the orthodox, good old fashion Queen fan likes it more, so it's joyful to see the careful treatment of the performance and the power of the Queen sound when all the members of the band sing together.

Queen’s legendary Hammersmith Odeon show on Christmas Eve 1975 is one of the best recorded and dynamic early shows available. It occurs a month after A Night At The Opera was released and soon after it hit number one and was video taped for The Old Grey Whistle Test hosted by Bob Harris for BBC television. Most of the show was taped, but the BBC cameras were turned off when Queen came back onstage after the “Jailhouse Rock” encore to play a few more songs. The cameramen couldn’t capture this part of the show so after thirty-five years it remains unseen.

Concert of the Queen Live Killers world tour at the Pavillion de Paris, March 1st 1979. Songs including Fat Bottomed Girls, You're My Best Friend, Don't Stop Me Now, If You Can't Beat Them, Spread Your Wings and Dreamer's Ball. On the exhausting Jazz Tour in late 1978 for the US and early 1979 through Europe and Japan, most European dates were recorded and then later spliced together to make up the Live Killers double-album. This tour featured their "Pizza Oven" lighting rig which consisted of 320 par lights arranged on a massive moveable rig above the band. It was nicknamed the "Pizza Oven" due to the massive amount of heat that the lights generated.

Queen Live in Hyde Park 1976 was a famous concert by the band. The concert took place on 18 September, during the hot summer of 1976. It was part of a brief summer tour of the UK by the band; they also played in Edinburgh and Cardiff on this tour. The Hyde Park gig was a free concert, which drew in a crowd of over 150,000, which was one of the largest audiences for any concert in London. The free concert was organised by Richard Branson, an entrepreneur at the time.
