Brandon, a respected street fighter, is forced to flee the city after his brother is murdered and the money that was supposed to be paid back to a local gangster is stolen. While lying low at his father's house in a small Southern town, Brandon soon gets involved in the local underground cage-fighting circuit. With the help of Drake Colby, a former MMA champion, Brandon devises a scheme to bring a massive payday, if they are able to survive.

UFC: Fight for the Troops, also referred to as UFC Fight Night 16, was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on December 10, 2008 at the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The event helped raise money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, which provides support for severely wounded military personnel and veterans and the families of military personnel lost in service. The event reportedly raised $4 million during its three-hour broadcast. The event was officially announced on September 17, 2008 during UFC Fight Night: Diaz vs. Neer. Brian Stann and Frank Edgar were originally slated to appear on the card, but injuries forced both fighters to withdraw. Razak Al-Hassan replaced Stann, and Jim Miller came in with only three weeks notice as a late replacement for Edgar. The referees assigned for the event were Dan Miragliotta, Donnie Jessup, Al Coley and Mario Yamasaki.

UFC 63: Hughes vs. Penn was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on September 23, 2006. The event, originally subtitled "Hughes vs. St. Pierre," was scheduled to feature a UFC Welterweight Title match between champion Matt Hughes and Georges St.-Pierre. Nevertheless, a groin injury—which was reported early in August—forced St.-Pierre off the card.

UFC 105: Couture vs. Vera was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on November 14, 2009 in Manchester, England at the Manchester Evening News Arena. This event aired on the same day, via tape delay, on Spike in the U.S.

The event was expected to be headlined by a 145 lbs UFC Featherweight Championship bout between current champion José Aldo and top contender Conor McGregor. Aldo pulled out of the bout and a interim championship bout between Chad Mendes and McGregor took place at this event. The UFC received official medical confirmation from several doctors that Aldo did not have a broken rib as he claimed and the biggest problem was the weight cutting process being complicated by the injury. This was confirmed when a release of an Xray tied to an old injury was released by Aldo's camp. WEC 4: Rumble Under The Sun was a mixed martial arts event held on August 31, 2002 at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut. WEC 4's main event was a fight between Aaron Brink and Jeremy Horn.

UFC 99: The Comeback was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on June 13, 2009 in Cologne, Germany. It was the first UFC event held in Germany, as well as the first in mainland Europe (events have previously been held in both the U.K. and Ireland). The main event was a catch weight bout between Rick Franklin vs Wanderlei Silva.

The Ultimate Fighter: Team Couture vs. Team Liddell Finale (also known as The Ultimate Fighter 1 Finale) was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on April 9, 2005. Featured were the finals from The Ultimate Fighter 1 in both the middleweight and light heavyweight divisions. Even though the main attraction of the event was Rich Franklin vs. the UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock, the spotlight was stolen by the light heavyweight finale between Forrest Griffin and Stephan Bonnar. Hailed as one of the greatest fights in MMA history by many, Forrest and Stephan produced a 3-round stand-up war that went the distance.

UFC 85: Bedlam was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on June 7, 2008, at The O2 Arena in London, United Kingdom. The main event was ultimately changed to Matt Hughes against Thiago Alves. Hughes took the fight on short notice as a favor to the UFC and Alves came in four pounds overweight.

UFC 109: Relentless was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) on February 6, 2010 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

UFC Fight Night 1: Marquardt vs. Salaverry was an event held on August 6, 2005 at the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event, aired on Spike, was the first UFC Fight Night event.

UFC 69: Shootout was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The card was headlined by heavy favourite Georges St. Pierre defending his welterweight title against The Ultimate Fighter 4 welterweight winner Matt Serra.

UFC 58: USA vs Canada was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on March 4, 2006.Five of the seven Canadian fighters featured, Icho Larenas, Sam Stout, Mark Hominick, Georges St. Pierre, and David Loiseau, were at the time champions in the Canadian TKO Major League MMA promotion. Each fight featured an American fighter against a Canadian fighter.

UFC 60: Hughes vs. Gracie was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on May 27, 2006. Headlining the card was a non-title catch-weight (175 lb) match between Matt Hughes, former UFC Welterweight Champion, and Royce Gracie, the champion of UFC 1, UFC 2 and UFC 4. This was Gracie's first match in the UFC and in the United States since UFC 5.

UFC Fight Night 12: Swick vs. Burkman was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on January 23, 2008, at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event featured former The Ultimate Fighter contestants Mike Swick and Josh Burkman in a welterweight matchup. This event was Swick's debut at welterweight, as he had been competing at middleweight prior to the show.

UFC on Fox 4: Shogun vs. Vera was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on August 4, 2012 at Staples Center in Los Angeles, California.

World Extreme Cagefighting returned to The Palace Indian Gaming Center in Lemoore, California for the ninth installment of promoters Scott Adams' and Reed Harris' emerging event. With a few big name guys and a packed stable of home grown talent, the WEC has started to make a push towards the top of the pack when it comes to regional events.

UFC on Fox 5: Henderson vs. Diaz was a mixed martial arts event that was held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on December 8, 2012, at KeyArena in Seattle, Washington.

WEC 6: Return of a Legend was a mixed martial arts event promoted by World Extreme Cagefighting on March 27, 2003 at the Tachi Palace Hotel & Casino in Lemoore, California. The event was centered around the return of MMA superstar Frank Shamrock taking on Bryan Pardoe. Shamrock had been retired and not competed in MMA since December 2000.
