1960's Siegheilkirchen, a small town in the Austrian hinterland is steeped in reactionary and ultra-Catholic attitudes. The son of a hard-working innkeeper and his wife, called Snotty Boy by all and sundry, is at odds with the narrow-minded confines of his home town. But his unstoppable talent for drawing gives him an outlet for his discontent.

Happy, an Indian refugee, is facing deportation. His dream of a successful life in Austria hasn't come true. What keeps him in the country, however, is his Austrian daughter Maya, from whom he would otherwise be permanently separated. In order to qualify for residency and custody rights, he gives up his job as a newspaper vendor and begins working as a food delivery driver. But one moment of carelessness, and the house of cards collapses.

Not because it's so beautiful or fun, but because others do it too, and it makes us feel less alone. We leave the disturbed self behind and disappear into the "we." This is how we find protection and security in the collective madness. We will explore this unbearableness in the second part of my lecture trilogy. It cannot be ruled out that we will once again encounter our evolutionary companion, the Neanderthals. They were ahead of us in many ways: They had time. We only have the clock...and it hasn't been ticking properly for a long time.

The boss, the caretaker, the failed actor, and the rude customer – all are ruined by alcohol: Düringer dedicated the program to the 'victims of Austrian pub culture' and was awarded the Austrian Cabaret Prize 'Karl 2001' for it. The jury praised it as 'Viennese folk theater for a new millennium.'

At a company Christmas party, men from different social classes encounter frustration, fear, anger and stress. Set in a municipal building, in the Prater and the surrounding streets, sausage stands, etc., characters and unerring punchlines result in an enjoyable Viennese film, written for the squad of local cabaret artists.
