Shri. Ilaiyaraaja is an Indian film industry conductor, arranger, lyricist, and singer. Also widely regarded as one of the greatest Indian composers, he's often credited for introducing Western musical sensibilities into the Indian film musical mainstream.

When the alcoholic younger brother of a well-respected man falls in love with a girl, an old enmity is brought to the fore. Together, the brothers must fight for peace and love.

Kannathal is the eldest of five sisters and believed to possess divine powers. A man offers to relieve the family of their debts if Kannathal marries him. But he shows his true colours after marriage.

Kalimuthu is the lead singer of a group performing Villu Paatu. The village head decides to reconstruct the tumbledown village temple and gives Kalimuthu responsibility for funding money. Finally, the music director Ilaiyaraaja helps them financially. Then, Kalimuthu approaches a reputed sculptor from another village. The sculptor and his daughter Abhirami come to their village. Later, Kalimuthu and Abhirami fall in love with each other. Abhirami's father wants to marry Abhirami to his nephew Rajasekharan while the village head's son Chelladurai , a womanizer, has an eye for Abhirami. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.

Prem, a police officer, and Vidhya, his colleague, fall in love and get married. When Vidhya's brother-in-law is falsely accused of a murder, the couple tries to find the real culprit.

Gopi is married to Tulsi, but since they could not have kids, he secretly gets married to another girl. Coincidently, both women get pregnant at the same time, leading to hilarious consequences.

A story of three young friends who are unemployed and stricken by poverty finding it hard to make ends meet. They are endowed with the never-say-die spirit and refuse to heed their parents advice to look for menial jobs. They continue to pursue their dreams no matter what comes. The shadows of these youngsters can be found abundantly in our society.

Muthaiya, a male Karagattam dancer, falls in love with Kamakshi, a female Karagattam dancer. But circumstances prevent them from confessing their love for one another and the lives of two artist families locked in a feud.

Bharti, a highly successful singer, escapes from his jealous wife who is unable to deal with his female fan following. He meets Jyothi, a dancer who has also escaped from her cruel husband.
