Tommy loses his job as a make-up artist at Bayerischer Rundfunk after fogging an announcer with hairspray and then insulting her; Mike is dumped by his girlfriend because, on the one hand, he only cares about his music and, on the other hand, he is financially stranded. So they both need money and decide to become detectives. On behalf of a rich industrialist, they are to shadow his wife and take photos of her cheating. So Mike and Tommy travel to Bad Spänzer, where the lady is staying. But she is as faithful as gold, so Mike, disguised as a Prussian, makes advances to her so that Tommy can take the required photos. But Tommy soon has to slip into a costume, too: Since Tommy looks deceptively similar to an Arab sheik, he is hired by the sheik's secret service to double him. What Tommy doesn't know: assassins want to kill the sheikh at all costs.

Arne Arndahl, a Norwegian farmer and sawmill owner, lives on the remote Svytelma farm with his marriageable daughters Astrid and Christine and his housekeeper Karen. When he is out hunting, his farmhand tries to rape Astrid. He is chased off the farm by the women. When Arne learns what has happened, he is driven to the Faalsund inn, trembling with rage, where he almost kills Erik, the farmhand. A stranger, who appears as suddenly as he disappears, stops him by force. At night, wolves break into the Arndahls' stables and snatch a calf. The next morning, Arne sets off to hunt down the gray predators. On the way, he is surprised by a snowstorm. And suddenly they are there: the wolves! Arne slips and loses his weapon. At first he manages to fend off the wolves with a wooden club, but then one of the beasts knocks him to the ground and the others are all over him...

Led by the young weaver Bäcker and the former soldier Moritz Jäger, they form a resistance group and storm the manufacturer's villa, who barely manages to save himself and his family. As the revolt spreads, the king sends in the military to quell the uprising. The old weaver Hilse, who refuses to participate in the uprising for religious reasons, is hit by a stray bullet while sitting at his loom and dies.
