It is 1943, and the German army—ravaged and demoralised—is hastily retreating from the Russian front. In the midst of the madness, conflict brews between the aristocratic yet ultimately pusillanimous Captain Stransky and the courageous Corporal Steiner. Stransky is the only man who believes that the Third Reich is still vastly superior to the Russian army. However, within his pompous persona lies a quivering coward who longs for the Iron Cross so that he can return to Berlin a hero. Steiner, on the other hand is cynical, defiantly non-conformist and more concerned with the safety of his own men rather than the horde of military decorations offered to him by his superiors.

In the improvised café “Radi Motka” in Dorćol, run and informally legalized by the resourceful Srboljub Dudić Srba, a diverse group of locals gathers: Žarko Zrenjanin, Vlada, Bane, Professor, Father Laza, Panja Panić, and Sloba. After a failed eviction, Sloba becomes the target of a media lynching, so the group organizes an improvised trial. This gives birth to SAČ – the Serbian Anti-Thief Squad. Encouraged by their initial success, SAČ members escalate their actions—from kidnapping Živaljević to hunting a dog poisoner—but the line between justice and lawlessness begins to blur. When they discover the poisoner is one of their own, the group falls apart and personal issues come to the surface. Forced to face the consequences of their actions, they manage to find a partial sense of peace, while “Radi Motka” survives as a symbol of their struggle and flawed attempts at justice.

War story of the 27th Panzers, Hitler's heavy-duty combat regiment composed of prisoners.

War arrives to a small secluded village in Vojvodina. The Germans take a group of hostages through the village and on their way molest a small boy. As revenge, the boy sets the German corn on fire. An intelligent and shrewd Gestapo officer Šicer arrives to investigate. He does not even suspect that he is up against a group of small boys, led by Milan and Vaso, and orders that all men from the village be taken to custody. He announces that one man will be shot each day unless the real culprit steps forward. Children contact the partisans.

When housewife Frances Hannon is abducted and buried alive, detective Madeline Foster is brought in. On Saturday, 5 April 1941, one day before the Invasion of Yugoslavia of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, a colourful group of random passengers on a country road deep in the heart of Serbia board a dilapidated bus, headed for the capital Belgrade. The group includes two gypsy musicians, a World War I veteran, a Germanophile, a budding singer, a sickly looking man, and a hunter with a shotgun. The bus is owned by Krstic senior, and driven by his impressionable and dim-witted son Misko.

Danilo's friend from classroom passed away. Father wants to draw the boy's attention away from the funeral and from his obligations as class president by taking him on a day trip. For the father, protecting his own child from unkind experience as the funeral by going on fishing becomes much more difficult a task than he expected.

One partisan boat, filled with refugees, tries to reach a safe area, but because of a storm it must stop near a small island. While the crew tries to repair it, a German gunboat comes from nearby.

At these little pinpoints of time he gets “Palms d’Or” at Cannes, “Golden Lions” in Venice, builds his own villages, a power plant and a piste and regrets not becoming a professional football player. Kusturica’s own living is very much similar to his movies, where shoes are polished with cats, death is treated like a story from tabloid press, and life is a miracle...
