"Trollskogen" is an unusual children's film—without narration or dialogue. It is a film to experience and imagine along with. The story is set around the turn of the century. Ten-year-old Rauni is on a hunting trip with his father. The father shoots a capercaillie. This makes a frightening and fascinating impression on Rauni. Later, he follows a hare but gets lost. Rauni experiences a long and dramatic night alone in the northern Norwegian enchanted forest—until he is rescued by the bear-hunting dog that the villagers use in the search for him.

The German battleship Tirpitz was a constant threat to Allied merchant ships from 1942. On November 12, 1944, the ship was sunk off the coast of Tromsø, where it had been lying damaged since being disabled off the coast of Alta in September 1943. Along with the Bismarck, the Tirpitz was Germany’s largest battleship, and its sinking was a significant blow to German prestige.
