The film is about the workers unpaid for six years who decide to lay down the driveway in front of their factory. Oki is an unemployed factory worker and union leader. His son Gruja is a movie director unemployed for ten years, he shoots weddings and funerals in order to survive and save enough money to shoot his first feature film. White, unemployed opera singer and Gruja's girlfriend, is trying to make money by singing opera arias from house to house. The story is about ruined factories and workers without someone to lead them to a better life.

Before and during WW II and the German occupation of Serbia, in a village in Vojvodina, inhabitants are separated based on their nationality. Local Volksdeutschers (ethnic Germans) enlist with the Nazi occupiers. The village bum, Leksi, jumps at the opportunity to put on a uniform and parade around with a gun. Farsa o Patlenu is a Yugoslav TV movie from 1970, produced by RTV Belgrade. It is an adaptation of the famous 15th-century French medieval farce, 'La Farce de maître Pierre Pathelin'. The story follows a crafty, bankrupt lawyer who resorts to trickery to obtain fine cloth from a greedy draper. The film was directed by Jovan Konjović and the screenplay was written by Miroslav Karaulac.
