Nakamura Toranosuke

One of Kabuki’s most iconic spectacles. Inspired by the Nō classic Shakkyō, mystical lion spirits with striking kumadori makeup appear on a sacred mountain to perform a powerful, dazzling dance among blooming peonies. Accompanied by vibrant live music, the performance ends with a spectacular display of swirling lion's manes.

Then you can enjoy a famous play featuring three thieves, and a dance in which ‘shishi’ lion-like beasts wildly shake their manes.
