The Slippers of Happiness is another film made by the Slovak Film Production in co-production with West German companies based on classic world fairy tales. After Slovak folk tales [The Greatest Peck in the World, Salt Over Gold] and the works of German fairy tale writers Wilhelm Hauff [The False Prince] and the Brothers Grimm [The Land of the Thrush's Beard, Perinbaba], screenwriter Alex Koenigsmark and director Juraj Herz were inspired by the famous fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen. It tells the story of slippers that the Fairy of Fortune enchanted so that they would fulfill every human wish and thus bring people happiness. The filmmakers humorously transferred the plot from Copenhagen to old Prague.

Adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen's "The Fir-Tree". The tale was adapted to a 28-minute video format in 1979 by Huntingwood Films produced by Kevin Sullivan, directed by Martin Hunter and filmed at Black Creek Pioneer Village, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Jeff Kahnert provided the voice of the Fir-Tree. This was the first film produced by Kevin Sullivan who went on to write, direct and produce the Anne of Green Gables movies.

In Denmark, a witch puts a spell on a childless couple, and soon they have a beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately, she's the size of a thumb, so she's named Thumbelina. But when a hideous toad kidnaps her, she escapes, and becomes friends with many of the animals of the forest. Eventually, she meets the king of the flower angels, and together they live happily ever after. Actress Kelly McGillis narrates this classic Hans Christian Andersen tale, with Mark Isham performing the score.
