Damaris Gonzales

Damaris Gonzales is a pioneer who defies tradition. In the town of Barva, Heredia—the birthplace of Costa Rican masquerades—she broke the mold by becoming the first female traditional mask maker, challenging a historically male-dominated profession. This documentary pays tribute to her contribution and career, showing how her workshop is much more than a workspace: it is a place where clay and spirit meet, where tradition comes to life anew through her hands.
