Traveling salesman meets a young woman who's running away from home, and helps her evade detectives who are tracking her.

Rosa, a working-class young woman, falls in love with the physician Armando de la Vega. After they spend a night together, she discovers that she is pregnant. Armando, however, marries another woman, and the couple leaves for Paris, where he remains for several years. Upon his return, disillusioned with his marriage, he meets the famous cabaret star Alma Rosa, not realizing that she is Rosa, now performing under a stage name.
