S. R. Vijaya

Thangapandi stays with his grandfather after the birth of his stepbrother Sellasamy. He is jealous of him and leaves his mother after an unexpected incident leaves him feeling unwanted.

Chinnaponnu, an innocent woman, is childlike and Sannasi, a womaniser, sets his eyes on her. Chinnaponnu's mother gets her married to Chellaiya but her behaviour does not change.

People in a village believe that when an outsider comes to their village, one of the residents dies. When a female family planning counsellor comes to their village, they try to get rid of her.
