Owen Quirion was born in Boston, Massachusetts and moved out to Los Angeles to attend USC’s school of cinematic arts as a production student. Working as a writer/director on over 20 short films, crafting worlds big or small that audiences can dive into, often containing an air of nostalgia, and a twist hiding beneath the surface. When he looks up on the big screen he wants to see stories with strong characters at their heart and that’s what he tries to put into every film he makes. Along with all of this he’s done work as a puppet builder and operator, a passion that he has integrated into a handful of his projects.
Known for
NRStitched is a surreal, genre-bending short film that explores love, grief, and denial through the lens of classic television. Set within the artificial perfection of a black-and-white 1950s-style sitcom, the film follows Donna Baker—a warm, witty housewife—whose world begins to fray at the seams, both metaphorically and physically. Humans and Jim-Henson-inspired puppets coexist in this glossy, laugh-tracked reality, but beneath the surface lies a far darker story stitched together by obsession and loss.
