Giovanni Battista Rigon directed a live recording of Rossini's Il turco in Italia in 2009 at the Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza. Il turco in Italia (The Turk in Italy) is a two-act comic opera by Gioachino Rossini with a libretto by Felice Romani, set in Naples.

A count with simple, unpretentious tastes courts the commoner Chiariella at his villa in Marechiaro. After a couple of broken marriage promises, he manages to extricate himself from the situation with the help of a sprite that pops out of a bottle.
