Lara Rashid

Lara Rashid (born 11 September 1994 in Norway) is a Norwegian-Kurdish journalist, author and former politician. She was a political adviser for the Workers' Youth League (AUF) and later worked as a journalist for VG. Rashid was a survivor of the 2011 attacks on Utøya, where she lost her older sister, Bano. She has since spoken publicly about the attacks and their aftermath and has appeared in several documentaries, interviews and other productions concerning the events. Rashid was portrayed by Seda Witt in Paul Greengrass's 2018 film 22 July. In 2021, she published her autobiographical book Hold meg til jeg sovner – et liv i skyggene av 22. juli.

Making Canada a country where all cultural communities and their values are protected and no one culture will be dominant was the goal of the Trudeau government. While visiting Germany, Great Britain, the Netherlands and Sweden, countries that adopted the Canadian model in the 1980s and 90s, the documentary provides an insight into how multiculturalism has evolved in Canada and around the world until now.
