Ian Hutchinson is the first, and so far the only TT (Tourist Trophy) rider ever to win five solo races in one week, while his total of 16 victories on the Isle of Man TT puts him fourth in the table of all-time greats. Back in 2010, he achieved the incredible feat, riding against the best road racers in the world including Cameron Donald, John McGuinness, Guy Martin, Conor Cummins and Michael Dunlop. Fate took a cruel turn just a few months later when Hutchy was involved in an horrendous short circuit accident and suffered a very badly broken leg. 6.5The record books show that the 2010 Isle of Man TT fuelled by Monster Energy was dominated by one person – history man Ian Hutchinson, whose place in the TT legend was secured when he took victory in all five solo races, a feat never before achieved. However, they also show the 2010 TT was one of the closest, fastest and most thrilling feasts of real road racing ever seen. Lap records were smashed in almost every race, with victory decided by as little as 1.32 seconds - after more than 150 miles of racing on the challenging roads of the iconic Mountain course.
TT 2010 Review
2010
NRIan Hutchinson made history at the 2010 Isle of Man TT by taking five wins throughout the week - he won all the major solo events, the first man to do so. Just months later it looked as if he might never walk again, let alone throw his leg over a bike to race around the Mountain Course. An horrific accident at Silverstone saw him plunged into a four year battle to save his leg and fight back to fitness. This is the story of how his grit and determination saw 'Hutchy' not only get back to something approaching full fitness but also score three decisive wins at TT 2015 - surely one of the greatest sporting comebacks of all time? The softly spoken Bingley, West Yorkshire native is often underestimated but this film shows that you write him off at your peril - nobody wants to win more than Hutchy and what greater motivation can you have than being told it is impossible?
