As the miles pass, old tensions from the turbulent transition between high school and college resurface. Somewhere in between growing up and settling down, a backdrop of summer crickets, endless blue skies, and open roads, they confront their memories and missteps that shaped their drifting friendships.

A single mother who owns a bakery and whose daughter writes to Santa hoping for a love interest for her mom. Meanwhile, Santa's son, Nick, sees the letter and enters the baking competition under a fake name to meet her.
