Born 2008-04-18 · New York City, New York

Isabella Ruiz is a Puerto Rican filmmaker and director from New York. Drawn to horror, psychological thrillers, and emotionally intense storytelling, she uses fear and the uncanny to explore identity, obsession, isolation, and the darker instincts people try to conceal. Her films have been recognized by the All American High School Film Festival, the New York Alliance Film Festival, the Tribeca “Speak Now” Student Film Festival, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, and others. Inspired by gothic cinema and the unsettling realities of human nature, Ruiz aims to create films that are deeply personal, visually haunting, and difficult to forget.
