Johan Mjällby

Karl Johan Siward Mjällby, born 9 February 1971 in Järfälla, is a Swedish former football player, defender and midfielder, and later also a football coach. Mjällby's surname comes from the fact that his grandfather, John Sivert Pettersson, took the name after Mjällby when he moved to Stockholm, as his family came from the town.

NRThe best from the 2004 European Football Championship, which was played in Portugal. Sweden had a strong tournament and reached the quarter-finals. The tournament saw a sensational winner in Greece, who won the final against the home nation Portugal with a young Cristiano Ronaldo in the team.

Sweden was drawn into what was known as the "Group of Death" along with Argentina, England and Nigeria. Sweden sensationally won the group after, among other things, Anders Svensson's classic free kick goal against Argentina. Brazil eventually won the World Cup gold medal and Ronaldo became the tournament's top scorer.
