Appu works as an assistant in a theatre troupe. However, due to some unexpected turn of events, the theatre director makes him his lead actor, which changes his life for the better.

Appu is a 1990 Malayalam film directed by Dennis Joseph. The film stars Mohanlal, Sunitha, K R Vijaya and Murali in lead roles.

Philip (Mammootty) is the owner of a financing company. Raju (Rahman), Philip's younger brother is a drug addict and is put under rehab. Neelima decides to marry Vindhyan so that he will end up dead as her first husband. With the help of Shivapal and her mother Padmavathi (Ponnamma Babu), Neelima tries many tricks to get Vindhyan killed.

The four chapters of the film tell stories, which are independent of each other. The only connection between them is the recurring theme of crime. With the flow of the movie, there is an increase in the complexity of the crimes.
