Commissioned to mark the 60th anniversary of the Cannes Film Festival, "To Each His Own Cinema" brought together 33 of the world's pre-eminent filmmakers to produce short pieces exploring the multifarious facets of cinema and their perspective on the state of their chosen artform in the early 21st century.

Tony has recently been released from a sentence for violent behaviour. He promises to improve his ways and is finally granted a few hours alone with his two children. They celebrate the reunion by going to the movies to see a new film by the famous, critically acclaimed Danish director Claus Volter. But the film is not the masterpiece it is said to be on the poster; the children are crying and Tony cannot get the money back he spent on tickets and candy. Tony does not give up; he seeks out Claus Volter in order to get an explanation and a refund. It is however easier said than done to get money out of a world-renowned filmmaker.

Erik Lund is a professor in child psychology. When his sister and her husband go on vacation, he is left in charge of their five children. He really feels up to it, since he is now going to be able to try out his skills in child psychology. However, reality is something else than theory and children do not always do as they are supposed to, according to his book on child psychology. The children soon fool him into doing as they please when it comes to food and pleasures. However, soon they start to realise that if they can make him serve them hot dogs and hamburgers and let them watch TV as much as they like, they can also make him help them restore their old house, so that they won't have to move, as their parents want to. And, as their uncle is nice enough to help them, they also decide to try and get him a wife.

The whole family is going on a skiing holiday in Norway when Dad breaks his leg. So Uncle Erik takes the five oldest children. On the ferry, Amalie meets ski instructor Dan, and Uncle Erik gets very seasick. It turns out that Dad has rented a very small, leaky cabin, but Jan and Michael sort it out so they can move into a large suite. It turns out that it has been rented to Mrs. Flinth and her friends, and she causes a lot of trouble. The family is thrown out, but once again Jan and Michael fix the situation. They claim that Erik Lund is a famous singer. Erik is busy looking after Amalie, but when she discovers Dan's flirting with another girl, she gets the boys to help her. Meanwhile, Erik also finds time to go ice skating with Mrs. Flint.

Combining the exultant sweep of epic period drama with the subtle intimacy of biography in a social perspective, this is a tale of materially impoverished childhood, struggling early manhood and an unrequited first love turned into good musical fortune for Carl Nielsen, one of the great composers of the 20th century. Based on the composer's autobiography, the film itself is designed to soar like a symphony.

Christianshavn 1894 - Headstrong Juliane fights alongside her husband Otto for love and family in strike-ridden Christianshavn. The couple has been married for five years and has two children together. Trade union politics are taking up more and more of Otto's life, and Juliane cannot even get him to tone it down at family gatherings, so Juliane has her hands full keeping track of the home and the children. The family argues about big and small things, from the sisters' disagreement about women's liberation to Otto's political involvement.

Finally, Viktor becomes a fireman, while Anja still do not have the great success of the advertising agency. Fortunately, they have each other and everything is bright as Anja gets a great opportunity at the office while being pregnant. Then Viktor just figure out how to be soft father, understanding man and tough firefighter at once. But how hard can it be?

An American travels to Europe to unravel the mystery surrounding his sister's death.

Set in the rock'n roll universe of the 1950s, »Cinder Rock'n Rella« is a classic tale, about Mille, who lives with her mum and dreams of becoming a musical star. When they stake all they have on a new milk-shake bar things begin to look up and the local film studios even want a girl to play a leading part that's just up Mille's street. But mum suddenly dies, leaving Mille deep in debt to her evil auntie and cousin, who'd rather be rid of Mille once and for all. Luckily heaven sends a couple of angels and Topper, a good fairy.

The fifth Anja and Viktor film. The couple are short of money. They live with their young daughter in their friends' dilapidated rehearsal space in Sydhavnen, but when the zealous municipal official discovers that they are using the rehearsal space as a residence, and they are now facing eviction unless they can secure funds for an apartment, the family finds itself in a challenging situation.
