Thando Walbaum was born on September 8, 1985, in Hamburg, Germany. He is the son of musicians Bethina Walbaum and Dumasani Mabaso. His mother is German, while his father is a South African of Zulu descent. He has two older half-brothers in South Africa. He grew up in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel district and still lives there today. He also spends time in South Africa. Walbaum had his first TV role for Studio Hamburg in 1999 in an episode of the children's series *Die Pfefferkörner*. In the movie *Emil und die Detektive*, he played Hassouna. After school, the young detectives meet at a high level of a spice warehouse of the company Overbeck & Associates, which belongs to Fiete and Vivi's parents in the first part, but is later given to Fiete and Vivi to look after. Here, in the historic warehouse district, the five friends have their headquarters. With smarts, combined delivery and support of the Internet, they find their cases here. The detectives convict polluters, animal dealers and drug smugglers. They also help each other with personal problems they encounter. 6.4The twelve-year-old Emil and his father are haunted by bad luck. To take a break from a series of family disasters, Emil is allowed to spend a few days with a friend of the family, the female priest Hummel in Berlin. In the train he runs across the slick Max Grundeis who anaesthetizes Emil and steals his savings of 1500 DM. When he finally arrives in Berlin, Emil and a gang of street kids, led by the cheeky girl Pony Hütchen, try to find the gangster, who haunts the posh Hotel Adlon as a hotel thief. Meanwhile, to prevent anyone from finding out about Emil's mishap, Gypsi, a member of the gang of kids, passes himself off as Emil, thus wreaking havoc on the home of the priest.
