Viktor Chibintsev

The film is about the youth who joined the ranks of the Komsomol in the early 1920s. The protagonists of the film are residents of a small town in southern Russia.

The head of the field hospital, Stupakov, has lost his wife. He devotes all his love exclusively to his daughter Vera, who works as a nurse in the same hospital. However, Stupakov’s love is selfish.
