Bank director L.W. Jacobsen resides in a small provincial town. He is not particularly interested in his wife, Elsebeth, but rather in teacher and city council member Miss Mortensen. Landowner Martin Kaas lives with his grandson Martin at Næsbygård. Martin is an avid horseman. One day, his horse loses a shoe, so Martin goes to see the village blacksmith Mortensen, where he meets the blacksmith's foster daughter Elise. The blacksmith is known to be an honest and religious man, but no one but Elise knows how brutal and cruel he really is. Elise discovers that her foster father, together with the estate's manager Hermansen, is involved in many shady deals that are not in the best interests of the estate. Martin, who often feels lonely, forms a warm friendship with Elise. One day, Martin disappears, and a letter left on his bed reveals that he has been kidnapped and that only a large ransom can bring the boy back.

Most of the ingredients in this filmed circus performance are familiar and simple, but something special has been added—something as simple as ordinary humanity. They talk and behave just like everyone else.

Baldur Justesen is the owner of an ice cream parlor in a Copenhagen suburb. He is a smooth and unassuming man who works hard to keep it running. It is not quite that easy. He has a beautiful, young wife, Sonja, who likes to dress nicely. A man who works all day in an ice cream parlor can also need some diversion, and it is Baldur Justesen's greatest joy to sing in the choir of the "Lyren" singing association.

The only daughter of an old landowner has died in Italy after leaving her family 15 years ago. Her son now returns home to Denmark. He threatens the landowner's nephew for his inheritance, prompting the nephew to devise several plans to discredit the boy in the eyes of his grandfather. The plans almost succeed, but thanks to help from the priest, among others, the story ends with a reconciliation between the grandson and his grandfather.

Peter Blom, called Lynet, escapes from prison, and at the same time the unemployed actor Poul Quist sees his portrait in the newspaper, in connection with a film company wanting to make a film about Lynet, and is looking for someone to play the lead role. Since the resemblance between Blom and Quist is striking, Quist approaches the film company and then the pranks start to take off, when Quist pretends to be Lynet. The film director thinks that he really is Lynet and sees a sensation by giving him the role.

Taxi driver Peter Basse is a jovial and cheerful man who faithfully looks after his daughter at the wheel and steers his carriage through the streets of Copenhagen with unwavering composure. One day he drives for the stylish valet Johan, employed by the old Dowager Baroness von Hessen. The taxi driver is tasked with delivering an important letter to the Dowager Baroness's grandson. Along the way, Peter Basse learns that the Dowager Baroness may be going crazy. In any case, she has made the acquaintance of two spiritualists.

At the Næsbygaard estate, the old landowner misses his grandson Martin, who is on a cattle farm in Texas learning about agriculture. The estate's shooter is ill, so the stud master has to take care of his job as well. This comes at a time when he is training hard for the gallop race for the King's honorary prize. To help lift their spirits, they are visited by some children from Copenhagen who are on vacation. When serious problems arise involving poaching on the estate's land, the children help to solve the case. The stud farm manager is injured, and it looks as if the estate's horse will not be able to participate in the big gallop race. But luckily, young Martin returns home from Texas just in time....

Danish social democratic propaganda film. During the Occupation, the young freedom fighter Søren had a good working relationship with a comrade in the resistance movement, despite the fact that Søren was a social democrat and his comrade a communist. After the liberation in May 1945, the differences that had been less important during the war begin to stand in Søren's way. Both his friendship with his comrade and his relationship with the wealthy Inger fall apart in the summer of liberation. But through his work in the Social Democratic Party, Søren experiences a renewed enthusiasm and resumes his relationship with Inger. Together, they actively engage in the party's work and both see it as an extension of the struggle for freedom during the occupation. Denmark's entry into NATO is particularly important.

Søren Holm becomes a pastor in the small town of Harslev. The parish council chairwoman, Mrs. Andersen, interferes in the pastor's family's private life, and when Søren plays in a soccer game to get to know the town's young men, Mrs. Andersen becomes furious. Half of the parish turns its back on Søren. But Søren does good work for the young people, and gradually, with the help of the parish clerk, he is accepted by both the parish council and the town's youth.

A lottery win allows the kitchen girl Hansy Hansen to lodge at an upmarket seaside hotel where the widower landowner Rosen falls in love with her. However, Rosen is in financial difficulties because of the lawyer Sadolin, who reneged on marrying his daughter. He puts everything he can into the daughter's horse to win a race.

The action begins one early summer morning in a hostel, where we see, among others, two young girls, a law student, Ruth, and a small office lady, Ilse. From their conversation, we understand that Ilse has a very bourgeois outlook on life. By chance, these two girls come across one of Ruth's fellow students, Pontus Berthelsen, who is spending the summer holidays in a fisherman's cabin. Ilse, who has little world experience, quickly takes an interest in Pontus, who possesses a lot of innate charm. Pontus does his best to conquer Ilse, but her bourgeois attitude means - at first - that she does not fall for his rather deft approaches.

In 1801, the composer Weyse's cousin, the cheerful Henriette Frisch, advised her cousin to take in some student boarders in the house, so that he would not have to provide so much musical information, but could have more time to compose. The result, however, was that Weyse had to take on even more students to feed the boarders, and it was particularly bad with the gifted student Kramer, whose wealthy uncle would not send any more money.
