A gentle comedy offering the promise of easy social consensus. Harry (Helmuth) is a simple old-time shop porter offered a chance at self-realisation when he's bequeathed a sum by an unknown relative (via several levels of fiscal blood suckers). He decides to engage a butler to take good care of him for a time. This is a man of distinguished upper class service, but a generous nature which happily integrates with Harry's small but colourful world of drinking buddies and crackpot neighbourhood kids.

Tonnemann lives in one of the wooden sheds at the far end of Islands Brygge, close to Copenhagen's landfill site. But in 1928, he wants to leave this environment behind – to go where the air is fresh and life may offer both security and meaning. He is already on his way with his packed suitcase to sign on to a long-distance boat when a lovely girl gets in his way with her little red sports car.

A convent in Naples is home to several secular residents, much to the dismay of the prioress. The convent is to be the setting for a musical performance featuring the famous opera singer Farinelli. The young and beautiful Inez has been placed in the convent by her ambitious father and is to sing a part with Farinelli. For the occasion, she wears the precious jewels of Saint Cecilia. But outside Naples, a pirate ship is anchored, and the pirates have secretly mingled with the churchgoers.

This film could easily be a true story taken from contemporary Denmark. It is a typical Tuesday morning: stormy weather, slush, and bitter cold. Two young women are cycling to work. They make an unpleasant discovery: they find a dead man on a bench in the park.

The estate Hjortholm is rescued from bankruptcy, as the pleasant doctor Christian Riis fetches the young engineer Erik Kongsted to the estate.

In a boarding house in the inner city lives Flora - a fresh Copenhagen girl with a burning dream: She wants to be a journalist. Accompanied by loud gramophone music, the typewriter clatters far into the night. But it is not easy to sell stories to the busy press, and Flora has only one last idea that can secure the rent: An interview with shipowner Olivarius, who has bought a precious Chinese statuette. But nothing goes as Flora expects, and soon she is on the hunt for a dramatic robbery story and - not least - in love with the suspected thief!

A picture of the life of the Danish people from the late 1820s to the introduction of the free constitution in 1849. A fictional character, Rasmus Nielsen, travels around the country, first as a traveling teacher, later in other positions, and through his experiences we are introduced to the conditions of various population groups. The central figure in the portrayal of historical figures is the politician Orla Lehmann.

On the indebted estate, Gyldenstrup, lives a spoiled and selfish lady, Mrs. Selstrup, with her two spoiled and selfish children, Ellen and Joachim. Her husband has recently died, and the widow completely forgets her grief when lawyer Hansen confides in her that they are in fact very poor. Spoiled and selfish as she is, it seems to her like a disaster that she and her two hopeful offspring may end up living in poorer conditions.

Baldur Justesen is the owner of an ice cream parlor in a Copenhagen suburb. He is a smooth and unassuming man who works hard to keep it running. It is not quite that easy. He has a beautiful, young wife, Sonja, who likes to dress nicely. A man who works all day in an ice cream parlor can also need some diversion, and it is Baldur Justesen's greatest joy to sing in the choir of the "Lyren" singing association.

Mrs Clara has been married to Carl Møller for almost 25 years, but she is not happy.

A husband is tempted to stray, gives in, and then struggles with himself and his conscience. The children are weighed in the balance, and in the end they are what make him stay in the marriage, even though he must then forsake the woman who for a time sweetened his life outside the confines of home.

Peter Andersen is an agent. Neither a wholesaler nor a representative, but simply an agent. Unlike his wife, he has no honorable ambitions. Little Miss Ellen Klausen, called "Klaus", is a medical student and is fighting bravely to complete her studies. It was her father's will that she should become a doctor. Klaus is endowed with a strong charisma and infectious joy of life, and she is infatuated with her stylish professor. She exploits her talent for singing by getting a job as a chorus singer under the name "Mille". Here she gets into trouble when she slaps an eager butcher after he has reached out to her.

After staying 3 years in America the Countess Ellie Stenholt (Marguerite Viby) returns home to Denmark and the family estate Stenholt. She finds that everything isn't going well noticing that the estate is falling apart and money is short.

An American gangster nicknamed "English Joe" has fled across the Mexican border with his gang, consisting of four men in addition to himself. The American police are after them because of a bank robbery in which they killed several of the bank's employees. But "English Joe" soon comes up with a new plan that can bring them to safety for a while and at the same time give them the opportunity for a new coup. An old engineer who has worked at a weapons factory in Mexico has traveled home to his own country to complete an epoch-making invention: the silent machine gun. The men are ordered to Denmark, where the old engineer now lives.

The painter Jørgen has talent but no luck. His upstairs neighbor is a ballet dancer and may not have much talent, but she does have good luck. Director Bang promises her that he will support her theater if she takes the lead role herself. Else is not particularly enthusiastic about the arrangement and Bang's courtship. Jørgen also has his eye on the beautiful girl, but is too shy to speak out. He's not happy about the development either.

After his father's will stipulates he must marry Bella Wilfer to inherit his fortune, John Harmon fakes his death to avoid the marriage and the threats on his life. He returns as John Rokesmith and becomes the secretary for the Boffins, who inherit Harmon's estate following his alleged death.

Two lively and famous Petersens, namely Robert Storm and Hans W., play prominent roles in this little comedy about a morally vigilant pharmacist, his somewhat more cheerful son, his crush on the pharmacy’s new cashier, Miss Hansen, and the equally enthusiastic two Petersens. Joy of life and free spirit clash with virtue and double standards in Copenhagen's nightlife, and the film’s programme is inscribed with the proclamation: ’The morality you display is not always the best!’ (Stumfilm.dk).

Peter Hansen, a parish clerk, is woken up in the middle of the night by a mysterious phone call. On the phone a woman screams for help, and when he hears shots shortly afterwards he knows that something is very wrong. Baron Preben is an unfortunate man – at least when it comes to the ladies. He has long waited for an opportunity to declare his true feelings for his good friend Ida. So when a romantic rival shows up during Midsummer celebrations, Preben has to propose sooner than he would like. In Horsens, the exiled Russian princess Elisabeth Antonovna is imprisoned. Though her existence is a sad one, two things in particular can cheer the princess up: stories about the cunning smuggler Madsalune, and flirting with her humble suitor, Lieutenant Johan Gordon. One fine day, the two joys merge into one, when it transpires that the lieutenant is in fact the smuggler Madsalune in disguise! Sir William's daughter Polly and the forest warden’s son George are best friends and quite inseparable. As they mature beyond the carefree days of childhood, their disparity in rank and status looms larger between them, and George puts aside his dreams of sharing the rest of his life with Polly. Instead, he meets a dancer, Stella, who moves with him when he himself is employed as a forest warden at Carlton Manor, the count’s estate. The solitude of the forest is a far cry from the bright lights and gaudy spectacle of the theatre, and when Stella meets some acquaintances from her old life, she is torn between who she really is and who her loved one thinks she should be. A curse by ancient spirits haunts the living in ‘The House of Fatal Love’. In spite of his young age, Count Eric Denton is very angry and jealous, which frightens his beautiful wife. Eric is to inherit a castle from his dying uncle. On his deathbed, the uncle tells Eric of the terrible misdeeds of their ancestors, which brought a curse upon the family. You can't necessarily use literature to solve a murder. That’s what the avid reader of detective novels, Astrid, will realise when she tries to imitate her novel heroes in a creepy murder mystery. Although her skills as a private detective fall short, she still learns a lot from her attempts. Such as that a charming policeman can be as good as any Sherlock Holmes, both in crime and in love. Eric "Anker" Ankerstjærne and his wife are like night and day. The film is the second 1910 film adaptation of Heiberg’s classic about foundling children, superstitions and star-crossed lovers. Near Elves’ Hill (Elverhøjen) lives Karen, a superstitious farmer’s wife, with her daughter Agnete. Agnete and the noble Sir Ebbesen are very much in love, but to their great sorrow Ebbesen is betrothed to the noble-born Elisabeth Munk. But not everything is as it seems. For Karen is not Agnete’s real mother: she found the baby girl on Elves’ Hill the very same night that the infant Elisabeth Munk, goddaughter of King Christian IV, disappeared from her parents’ home. FRAGMENT | In the cellars of Kronborg, a fully armed Holger the Dane sits quietly sleeping when he is suddenly called into action. Princess Gloriant has fallen into the clutches of the heathen giant Burmand, so Holger must act swiftly. Fortunately, he arrives in time to prevent the abductor from harming his intended victim. Only a fragment of the film has been preserved. In its entirety, it told the tales related in the two legends about ‘Holger Danske and Didrik the Strong’ and ‘Holger Danske and Burmand’. Ambrosius Stub is elated when he gets the position as a writer, working for the Baron. This means a steady income and new experiences, as well as various new acquaintances. When Consul Bjørn is unexpectedly summoned to a meeting in town, he leaves his wife home alone in their luxury villa. At the same time, a cunning criminal has escaped his pursuers. Everything is peace and quiet at the family Kemp's house in Sønderborg, but danger is lurking outside their doors. The war has just begun, and the young Valdemar Kemp goes away to fight for his mother country. The Danish soldiers put up a brave fight on the battlefield, but the German army is to strong. Boarding school friends Edith and Yvonne's intimate friendship is put to the test by fate in this tragic love triangle. Their paths diverge when Edith's father dies and she has to move back home to her mother. Years pass, Edith marries a handsome officer, while Yvonne pursues an artistic career. Time and again she declines Edith's invitations to come and live with her and her officer, Kai Hornung.
