In May 1974, Valéry Giscard d'Estaing became President of the Republic and wanted to bring about a new era of modernity. One of his first decisions was to break up the ORTF with the creation of three new television channels: TF1, Antenne 2 and FR3. Three new public channels but autonomous and competing. It is a race for the audience which is engaged then, and from now on the channels will make the war! This competition will give birth to a real golden age for television programs, with variety shows in the forefront. The stars of the song are going to invade the living rooms of the French for their biggest pleasure. This unedited documentary tells the story of the metamorphosis of this television of the early 1970s, between freedom of tone, scandals, political intrigues and programs that have become mythical.

Alain Souchon has never been able to be as it should be and that has long saddened him. His failures in the baccalaureate and in the competitions to become a steward or postman opened up another path for him. Inspired by the music of Laurent Voulzy, he used the words that floated in his head and became the poet of life. This mixture of sweet melancholy and humor, his imagination and his sense of observation, this strong bond with the public have given him, in fifty years of career, a special place in the French musical landscape. It is his story and his repertoire filled with hits that his relatives, friends and musicians reveal here, including his sons Pierre and Charles, Laurent Voulzy, Michel Jonasz, Louis Chedid, Thierry Lhermitte, but also Jane Birkin, Vincent Delerm and Edward Baer.

Passionate about the singer Elvis Costello, Ulysses works every Saturday at a gas station in the middle of nowhere to pay for his meteorology studies. Shy and suffering from stagnation when confronted with a conflict situation, he does not respond to the insistent advances of Marie, who lives across the street. At the same time, Anton and Mirek, two English gangsters, are combing all the gas stations in the area in search of a loot hidden in the toilets.

In this comedy drama, two lovers go on vacation to the fellow's summer home in southern France. Once there, the woman becomes quite jealous because she knows that many women have been at this house with him. She herself is not as experienced as he and secretly dreams of having many different lovers. Time passes and things become increasingly tense between them and they begin verbally attacking each other. Finally they make peace and love.

After serving his sentence, a robber returns to his small, quiet hometown to retrieve the loot. But a ruthless Police inspector and his equally nasty young subordinate are after the criminal.
