Shammi

A Pakistani Urdu-language social film directed by Luqman, starring Shammi, Santosh, and Asha Poslay.

Roohi made history as the first movie to be banned by the Pakistan Film Censor Board for containing features that could expound socialist ideology. The government said the film generated 'class hatred ' and portrayed a rich married woman having an affair with a young, unmarried man; after the ban was lifted, the film received mixed reviews and was a moderate box office success.

To save his critically ill son from poverty, a poor man agrees to a dangerous deal with his boss's devious wife. His desperate choice pulls him into a world of crime and blackmail, ruining his family's peace and leaving a dark secret that haunts them for years.

Set in the aftermath of the 1947 Partition, it follows a young woman whose life is disrupted as she migrates to a new country, while longing for her lover Saeed and struggling with separation and emotional distress.
