This romantic and grandiose historical film depicts the era of the constant incursions and heroic battles fought by the defenders of the castle of Eger, led by captain István Dobó, against the heavy odds of superior numbers through the lives and love of Bornemissza Gergely and Cecey Éva. Gergely is inaugurated as a fighter already at the age of 7, when he escapes the captivity of the half-eyed Turk, Jumurdzsak, with Vica and the war-booty. In thirty years' time he becomes the first assistant of captain Dobó and the brain of the castle in the defence of Eger.

The Tóth family resides in Northern Hungary. The couple has a daughter and a son, the latter a member of the armed forces. When his weary major is ordered to take a vacation, the son talks him into a visit to his family home. Hilarity ensues when the Tóths go overboard trying to make things pleasant for the visiting major in hopes of an easier life for their son, the soldier.

Terpinkó, the bragging man of muscle likes womanising linked with betting: conquering is a great fun for him. He bet one to a hundred on his new boss, Éva. Seven stories about love and women.

During World War II, a young poet remembers his love on a train bound for the front. He spent the days before his enlistment with his sweetheart. Poetry and love bring them momentary happiness. Bálint does not want to be separated from the girl, so they run away from the draft notice. Then, the girl disappears...

Zsuzsa, Éva and Jolán decide to divorce their husbands. Their attorney is the young Vera who visits the husbands one after the other with the enthusiasm of dealing with the very first case. The bafflement of the sanguine Péter, the materialistic Sándor and the indolent Bálint lasts only for a few moments; after that, they all fall in love with the pretty lawyer.

This film is based on the logic of the associations, telling the story of teenagers of the day. Three boys find shelter from a storm in a villa at Lake Balaton. When the owners suddenly appear, only two of them can escape. Kiki is stuck in the larder. Waiting for his release, he recalls different stories in his mind, memories and the images of his imagination are mingled.
