Munch-Fals’ script follows Adam, who has so far been spoiled by life – a good job, a lovely wife, an expensive villa, an independent son – but still it isn’t good enough. Even the swinger weekend trips he has been taking with his wife have become a joyless routine, and his youthful optimism and appetite for life are distant memories. Then, one day, at another swingers’ club, he does what swingers don’t do – he falls in love.

Rasmus defends his Ph.D in Danish literature entitled "The Romantic Idiot", but with his special qualifications there are not many jobs around. To reduce his study loan he settles for a temporary teaching job at an adult education programme in the provincial town of Korsør. Here, Rasmus meets a complex group of people and takes part in their lives. He falls dramatically in love with one of his pupils, Signe, who dreams of having a child with her partner, Camilla. Playing the role of a romantic idiot in Korsør just isn't plain sailing for Rasmus.

For one day and one night the two of them drive around Copenhagen looking for the car, and the trip becomes a moving odyssey where father and son will finally get to know one another.

But it will be difficult to afford to buy a new printer, since the boy's father suddenly decides to terminate his job to invent a machine that according to him will change the world. At the same time a couple of crooks wind of his father's invention, and when the family Krum Borg's future is in problems, Crumb and his siblings to the occasion and save the day.

Poul is a struggling magician looking for just the right trick to take him to the big time. To get the money to acquire 'The Sawed-in-Half Lady' from Frankfurt he makes a deal with Arne, a shifty insurance agent. Using his magic skills, Poul pretends to be a clairvoyant exorcist, while Arne supplies the clients. Then Poul meets Lærke, the owner of the 'Spiritual Universe' store, and he realises there really is more between heaven and earth and that a whole woman is better than two half ones.
