Gráci has been recently released from a reformatory school. His old gang would like to involve him in a new action, but he hesitates. His past record is bad enough already, and he would not like to get into new trouble.

At a dusty crossroads in the Soviet Union villagers surrender their possessions - a horse, a samovar, a goat - to the state. The train which takes them away brings to the village a physically and mentally handicapped woman, barely able to speak. She makes herself bracelets of burrs and studies herself in a cracked and cloudy mirror. Befriended by very few, teased and tormented by many she seeks protection at a huge portrait of Stalin.

The chroniclers are diligently scribbling the history of life and deeds of the virtuous and wise King Matthias, who, in the meantime, sneaks out of the palace in disguise. Instead of attending a boring reception of the imperial deputies and papal legates, he pays his address to three pretty women from Szelistye.

This satire on film depicts the micro-climate of a technical vocational school newly established at a housing estate. The construction vocational school holds a name-giving ceremony, thus calling the attention of its supervisory organ to itself. The school-master distributes as well as receives presents from the sponsoring factory, and the pupils sit for a written examination of unheard-of material. The results are devastating, which the despotic school-master attempts to conceal by a staged disciplinary procedure.

The story of Bendegúz, the teenage boy who never succeeds in anything and about whom everybody's first though is "I wish you had been hanged when you were born!" drops out of school and becomes a cowboy. He works for the Stationmaster whose cows he has to graze by the railway. Despite his goodwill and kindheartedness he always manages to spoil everything he touches. No matter his wit, he gets into humiliating situations and regularly fights with the Ugly Witch (the Stationmaster's mother-in-law). However his good spirit and cheerfulness never leave him.

Based on a true story, a love affair develops between a half brother and half-sister. When pregnancy results and word gets out the public is outraged.

Miskei, the popular and dynamic president of a co-op falls in love with Mari, the attractive wife of the elderly Pató. The deeply feeling woman is fed up with the service beside the haughty land holder, she is longing for tenderness and a child. The passion of Miskei is growing when he sees how crudely, humiliating Pató treats her. During a powerful summer shower, when chance brings them together in an abandoned press house, he storms on Mari confessing love. The woman refuses him bitterly. Miskei calms down and he keeps on expressing his love and high esteem with the woman by steadfast and tiny compliments. Early one morning Mari leaves her husband and sets off to the city to learn and to begin a new life.

The two main characters of this ironic account of the general condition of intellectuals are the charming psychologist, Korin György, and the unexpected. Korin starts a television series of people in their 40s. In the afternoon just after the first section, however, he is reported to be dead as a result of a rather strange accident. Everything turns upside down.

In 1944 Budapest, a watchmaker, a book seller and a carpenter are drinking in a bar with the owner, when they are joined by a stranger. The watchmaker poses a hypothetical that will change their lives forever.

Hungary in the 1930s. The world suddenly changes around the peaceful office-clerk and regular, average petit-burgeois Kornél Cassius. Friends and relatives turn up in his home, who soon establish themselves there and even take the upper hand. They continue to arrive in increasing numbers, and turn the well-known objects and patterns of relationships upside down.

The suburban school is totally bankrupt. When all hope collapses, Makkosi, a teacher resigned to the disappointing situation, and Annamari, a pretty French teacher, end up in a casino in Szentendre. They are surprised to discover that Makkosi can predict the winning numbers at roulette. The maths teacher is unimpressed and when her love seems to be on the wane, she puts all her eggs in one basket: to save her life, her love and her school. His mad plan is to multiply the school's meagre funds in the Monte Carlo casino.

Lajos Tót, municipal firefighter at the Mátraszentanna. His house is clean, his garden bathed in sunshine. When his son's commanding officer turns up one fine day to rest from the shocks of war at the Tót's, Lajos Tót and his family do everything to make the Major feel at home. Everything that is humanly possible. But what is humanly possible, in times of hardship at least, is a matter of opinion. "If a snake (a rarity) devours itself, is there a snake-sized void left behind? And is there any power that can feed a man his being? Is there? No? Is there? A toothy question!"

A story of a family that after WWII moved to the south of Slovakia and acquired a prosperous butcher business left behind by a Hungarian emigrant. From the previous owner, the family also inherited a self-assured, greedy assistant who does not like to observe any firm moral principles. He assists the family in gaining wealth but in the long run, he causes the family's moral dissolution. In his most successful feature film, director Zoro Záhon combined a complex drama with excellent acting performances, especially that of Hungarian actor Gábor Koncz in the lead role.

Kicsi Dániel, the young virtuoso pianist gets a separate apartment in the ten-storey block of flats. He rehearses all the time, irregularly, day and night, disturbing thus the peace of the dwellers in the thin-walled house. Inquisition begins in the name of equal rights for inhabitants.

Adaptation of Mór Jókai's classic 19th century novel on Mihály Tímár, the captain of a commercial Danube ship in the 1830s, who finds unexpected fortune by meeting a Turkish aristocrat fleeing from his home country with his daughter Tímea. On their journey, they find an unknown island on the Danube, called the Senki szigete (the Island of No-one), a sort of earthly paradise, with only an old woman and her young daughter Noémi living on it.

On the crowded train, the workers entertain each other by telling stories.

Torday Géza, a new engineer arrives at the ammunition factory disguised as if manufacturing camping gears. His appearance upsets existing patterns. The director sells the products at a low price in the West. In the meantime diversionaries attempt to destroy the plant. It turns out that Torday is a man of the intelligence built in among the reconnaissance people, as is his childhood lover, Magda. Agents and policemen play the game.

On his return from America, András simply cannot find his place: he has lost his wife, friends and job, and he cannot even find his way back to his former great love. Eventually, as a surrogate father, he takes in a wild young girl (Zsuzsa Czinkóczi) and a particularly strong bond is formed between these two rootless people. Márta Mészáros’s remarkable movie starring Jan Nowicki and Anna Karina is about displacement, loneliness and attachment.

The heroine of the TV movie based on Imre Sarkadi's short novel is a coward to accept the duties, struggles and struggles of everyday life. Giving up her desires and plans, she floats aimlessly in her luxurious surroundings, in the hated company of the famous artist husband. His willpower is only for pointless heroics. He is incapable even of the sincere and profound love that gives hope of a meaningful and happy life.

Nothing is as dangerous to a really good group of friends as a woman and love. At least according to Frank, the brigade leader, who not only protects cohesion but also work performance when he gives advice to his colleagues. It's easy for him, of course, because he's never been in love. Not so his friends, who are still courting the travelling circus artists. But what goes around comes around. Then Klári, the forklift girl, appears...

The German national swimming team travels to Budapest for a competition. However, the teenagers are more interested in flirting with each other than training. Their coach is less than thrilled with his team's behavior.
