VXII century. The Old Believer family lives in the sleepy Siberian taiga. They keep an ancient miraculous icon that has saved them from trouble more than once. The icon used to belong to the boyar Morozov and came to them after his arrest. In the 1970s, a group of researchers assembled an expedition to Siberia, to the place where Old Believers live. The icon seems to be in the skete of Karp and his daughter Agafia. Historians want to make sure that the rumors are true, they do not know that several more interested groups are also sent there - students, foreign agents and treasure-seeker criminals.

During an examination flight, the colonel, who was on board as an examiner, accidentally touched the wrong switch - and the machine crashed into the sea. Everyone except him survived. And now, during the investigation, pilot Nazarov, a student of the colonel, as a sign of gratitude for the pedagogical skills of a talented teacher, takes all the blame upon himself.

Praised for its fine photography and production design if not its narrative, Sergei Bondarchuk directed this adaptation of the tale by Alexander Pushkin. Boris Godunov came to the Czarist throne at the end of the 16th century, after the original heir to Ivan the Terrible had died. At first, things went well for Godunov (played by Bondarchuk), but when the Russian people began to believe he had killed Ivan the Terrible's son in order to gain the throne, an alliance sprang up against the new Czar. However, the hero does not take drastic measures, but gets to know the children better and does everything possible to restore hope and faith in a better life to these disadvantaged children. "When a child becomes an orphan after losing his parents, it is terrible, but understandable. But an orphan with living parents is both terrible and incomprehensible. The hero of our film confronts the tragedy of such children, who were given life but deprived of a home, maternal affection, and warmth," said director Igor Voznesensky about his film.

Having fled from the Crimea, Wrangel, having concentrated his army on the Bulgarian coast, is preparing a landing force and counts only on the support of the counter-revolutionary underground hiding in Rostov. Director Yuri Eremin masterfully presents classics in a contemporary way, finding vital connections with the present while avoiding semantic and artistic overstatements. Dostoevsky's translation of the biblical story to Russian soil resonates more poignantly than ever before. The play, with its intense plot development, seamlessly intertwines profound philosophical and moral content with a maelstrom of destructive passions, centered on the protagonist, who unwittingly sparks a love rivalry between two extraordinary women.
