The Alp Theatre is preparing a production based on the Grimm Brothers’ fairytale The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats. The owner, Mr Richter, is keen to reverse declining numbers and plans a special Halloween matinee to showcase his new production. One of his staff, Emma, is preparing to leave her job to pursue her dreams of becoming a movie actress—much to Richter’s disappointment that she wasn’t interested in appearing on stage. After everyone has gone home, one of the actresses and the play’s writer go back into the theatre when they realise that their phones are missing—only to be attacked and murdered by someone in a wolf mask.

The dynamic detective Stefanie Posch from the Federal Police is transferred to the countryside in Schleswig-Holstein to solve a case. A blackmailer is sawing small pieces of rail out of the tracks and threatening to resize them if the railroad doesn't pay up. Stefanie Posch causes quite a stir at her new place of work, not only with the cunning villagers but also with the local police.

The fate of the grumpy pensioner, who was disenfranchised by his adult children and deported to the home, touches her and she decides to fight for him. But when the general's expensive pocket watch disappears, Jessie, already convicted of theft, is suspected. But the general stops by and they both embark on an adventurous journey to the sea.

When competition from a discount garden center forces him into bankruptcy, his life begins to totter. At least Balthasar now has more time for his daughter. However, Maxi is more surprised than pleased by her father's unexpected attention. Then he meets the self-confident Annette - a real stroke of luck. But with his stubborn nature, the self-centered man soon alienates the charming and open-minded Annette. In a painfully funny way, Balthasar has to learn what is really important in life.
