Olesnik seeks to settle a blood debt: to avenge a prank played by Hernán and his friend Chiri back in 1987, which drove his own mother to suicide. It is an inescapable, suffocating, and deadly spiral of vengeance that unfolds over the course of a single night.

On her question, "Who am I?" he says she is a mistake and that she is alive thanks to his decision. It is her who ultimately solves the Writer's conflict in a tragical showdown with the Sheriff.
