The film deals with the true events which happened in 1949 in Italy, when then-schoolteacher Pier Paolo Pasolini was accused of soliciting three underage boys.

Mauro is 33 years old and has two graduate degrees, but lives with his parents and can't find a job to save his life...or his sanity. As Mauro begins to inexplicably go off the deep end, he begins self-sabotaging his dates and his job interviews, terrorizing the family maid and making his mother and father wonder what they did to deserve a son like this. Will poor Mauro ever regain his sanity?

Giovanni is a criminal lawyer who is successful both at work and with women, despite a happy marriage. One day, however, his life is turned upside down by the sudden intrusion of Sara, a beautiful professional used to conquering men to fight boredom. With very weak health and wait for the police to evict the immigrants occupying the building Pantanella Luigi remembers working in the mines of Belgium, along with Italian immigrants, their allocation to Giano, a suburb where subhuman living conditions provoke wars among the indigent, his work at Caritas, creating homeless shelters, first aid to AIDS patients, their struggle for racial and religious integration ... and above all, lack of support from different political parties and leaders of the church itself.

Milan. Job, an enterprising young man, meets Brambilla, a girl who runs a seedy club with the blind and evil Bongo. Wanting to give her a gift, Job robs a store but kills four police officers. Sergeant Madeddu pursues him.

The film is set in Reggio Calabria in the late eighties, when bribes are everywhere and the power of the city is in the hands of two bosses: Saro Lodato and Cocò Raffati.

The fourteen-year-old Carlino, a restless and rebellious boy, lives with his parents Cesare and Bianca and with his older sister Carolina, who is about to marry Pietro. His father, severe and cold with his son, is a vain and irreducible womanizer who loves only himself and his dog, while his mother is shy and frustrated. Having married Carolina, the only one affectionate towards him, Carlino takes revenge for the lack of love, causing a lot of trouble. His father, furious, then sends him to a severe boarding school, run by religious men, where the boy feels uncomfortable with his classmates and teachers, and especially with the prefect in charge of night surveillance, who punishes him continuously.

Tiziano, a seventeen-year-old boy, fights to change his destiny, against the backdrop of a Taranto oppressed by the underworld. With a father sick of video poker and a mother busy opposing the installation of an antenna in front of an elementary school, Tiziano ends up getting into serious trouble when, in order to chase his dream of starting a different life in a distant place, with his girl, robs the safe of the local boss's villa.
