A bumbling man finds adventure in the media world.

Y2K. With no experience nor training, Simon Boisvert embarks on a journey of writing and producing self-financed micro-budget narrative films. Nine years later, he had produced and distributed six feature films. This documentary, interspersed with various excerpts from his films and personal archive footage, recounts his journey through thick and thin, and as a laughing stock.

Dan, Marc, and Michel have been playing instrumental rock for ten years in complete anonymity. They decide to recruit a singer, Mila, and a keyboardist, Sophie, to improve their chances of success. Thanks to their new, sly manager, Tony, one of their songs reaches the top of the charts, and the band goes on tour. Unfortunately, various personality clashes and romantic entanglements threaten the band's future.

In April 1994, the middle-aged Canadian journalist Bernard Valcourt is making a documentary in Kigali about AIDS. He secretly falls in love for the Tutsi waitress of his hotel Gentille, who is younger than him, in a period of violent racial conflicts. When the genocide of the Tutsis by the Hutus in Rwanda begins, Bernard does not succeed in escaping with Gentille to Canada. When the genocide finishes in July 1994, Bernard returns to the chaotic Kigali seeking out Gentille in the middle of destruction and dead bodies.
