Shonosuke Furukehashi (Hiroshi Tamaki) is a young samurai and the second son of Sozaemon (Bunchin Katsura) of Togane Domain, Kazusa Province. Sozaemon serves as an attendant, but one day, he is suddenly suspected of accepting bribes. Forged documents written in handwriting startlingly identical to his offer incontrovertible evidence. The story of beautiful Christian nun, Kyoko who is the object of affection for two very different men - one the happy-go-lucky yakuza gangster, Haruhiko who is the next-in-line to takeover the ragtag "Tenryu Gumi" gang and the other bumbling police detective Kumashiro. The Tenryu Gumi is a collection of misfits and other troublemakers but are relatively peaceful due to their Christian beliefs. Their bitter rivals are the more traditional "Kuroiwa Gumi", a much more sadistic and violent group led by godfather Kuroiwa.

Meanwhile, Tsubakiyama Shota, a senior at Sakuragaoka Gakuen in Tokyo is the only member of his school's photography club. Other members resigned thinking that photography won't help in getting them to a university. In spite of principal Saeki objecting to his plans, Shota was still eager to join, forming a team with his childhood friend and a junior volunteer. With over 500 schools all over the country, only 18 schools would be chosen to participate in the event. Competitors fight to capture the beauty of Japan and the human spirit.

Fukaya Sakurako is married to the owner of ‘Fukaya’, a long-established miso shop in Nagoya City. She lives comfortably with her husband Kazuhisa and their daughter Yuko, a university student. Sakurako is content with Kazuhisa, a family man whose redeeming feature is his kindness. Her worry is Yuko who pays no attention to school work because she has been chasing after Shugo, a popular singer-songwriter in Nagoya. One day, Sakurako sees Shugo’s post on social media and an exchange with a young man who is not even her own child begins over smartphone. Having aspired to become a songwriter when she was young, Sakurako starts to give Shugo advice on the lyrics for his new song. Then one day, Shugo proposes that they work together in Tokyo but ... is this love? Will Sakurako choose her family or him?
