Scholar Qin Kun rescued a giant clam shell from a group of mischievous children, unaware that the shell was actually the true form of the clam spirit, Meiniang. At this moment, Qin Kun was targeted by the female demon of the Yin Wind Cave, his life hanging by a thread. To repay his kindness, the clam spirit offered herself to Qin Kun, becoming his wife.
