A group of anti-revolutionary monarchists based in Paris plot the overthrow of the Iranian government, with the help of powerful but shadowy American forces. The plan is that one week before the International Atomic Energy Agency is to inspect Iran’s nuclear facilities, they will detonate the bomb near a famous sports stadium in Tehran in order to cause mayhem and mass destruction and discredit the Iranian government. Written and directed by Behrouz Afkhami, from a story that is loosely based on the novel The Fourth Protocol by Frederick Forsyth.

On 5 June four hijackers, three men and a woman, hijack an Iranian passenger aircraft. Their commander is a person named Fariborz Atabaki [Nasser Aghayi]. Two of the passengers, one of whom later turns out to be an officer, disarm the hijackers; to the astonishment of the passengers they guide the aircraft to the same European destination the hijackers had intended. The original planners of the hijack hold a press conference at the destination. They say all the passengers are seeking asylum and ask the officer to tell the journalists his views. He says his reason for bringing the aircraft here is to show the world the passengers have no interest in political or social asylum; they all want to return to Iran.

An official is sent from his home in Tehran to hear the final appeal of a woman sentenced to death, a political prisoner. The official's wife of nearly 20 years, Fereshteh Samimi, writes him a letter to read when he reaches the hotel - the story of her student days during the revolution of 1978. We see the story in flashbacks as he reads: she leaves her province on scholarship, joins a Communist youth group, avoids arrest, and comes under the sway of a suave older man, Roozbeh Javid, a literary-magazine editor. As she tells her husband about the hidden half of her life, Fereshteh asks that he listen to the woman facing execution, a woman and therefore one of Iran's hidden half.
