He is convinced that Thomas cannot take over the kingdom because he is not of noble birth and, moreover, is too kind-hearted. And a ruler must be tough. The noble Prince Arthur of Nebesníže, who can also talk to echoes, would be a more suitable groom. Tomáš and the princess defend their love and each in their own way defy the king's will. Tomáš fights the prince of Nebesníže with echoes, and Doubravka runs away from the castle. If it weren't for the good flower fairy from the castle greenhouse, Anna's nanny, and the old gamekeeper, who knows how their young love would have ended.

However, his inadaptability to local conditions and his sense of ethics in his chosen profession do not suit his other established colleagues. While they are amused by his zeal and responsibility, Štěpán has increasing problems with his superiors, until he is finally transferred to the position of rural district doctor, which everyone rejects. In Bezdíkov, however, he meets a new, perhaps permanent and reciprocated love, with whom he eventually decides to live and work in northern Bohemia.

Princess Lolinka is as pretty as a picture, yet suitors give her a wide berth. And they have good reason: the princess is spoiled, whiny, and faints at the drop of a hat. Just when it seems that the king and his scribe Jakub will have to endlessly tell the princess made-up stories about suitors who like Lolinka very much but cannot marry her for various serious reasons, the charming sorceress Otylka and her clever assistant, posing as Prince Romulus, appear on the scene. However, the two of them still cannot agree on how to divide the royal reward. Fortunately, they argue for so long that Lolinka comes to her senses and decides that Romulus would not be the right groom for her. Don't worry, the best one will be found at the right moment...

Several retired women have been attacked in their apartments by an unknown man. None of them have been raped or killed yet, but the perpetrator's brutality is increasing with each case. The attacks always occur at the same time, on Thursday afternoons. The violence is followed by robbery, with money and jewelry disappearing. At the intercession of a former colleague, Major Bohuslav, who has been temporarily reassigned to the police archives because he has recently been dealing with his difficult family problems with alcohol, is put in charge of the case. Bohuslav sees this case as his last chance. He successfully solves the complicated web of family and "business" relationships, in which, as it initially appears, the murder was committed by a man who was recently buried, in cooperation with Captain Mazancová.

After some time, a young and capable lieutenant Charvát arrives from the Prague CID. While he is getting acquainted with the circumstances of the case and the evidence found, he makes friends with the handsome Květa, the daughter of the hostel manager Weisse. The complicated relationship that develops between the two lovers is in no way comparable to the complexity of the criminal case that brought Charvat to Kostelec. Things get even more complicated when someone murders Malásek, a local brawler and drunkard, with a shotgun. He is actually Květa's husband. Three detective stories from industrial Ostrava. Police search in vain for a missing 16-year-old girl, but succeed in finding a mentally disturbed infant kidnapper. In a case of robbery, at the cost of injuring one of the investigators, they manage to apprehend a lover fleeing with stolen money across the border to Poland...

This production of Ostrava TV Studios was inspired by actual events which occurred in the Ostrava region of Moravia during the 1920s and 1930s. A hedonistic bon vivant of a lawyer named Zajícek (played by Václav Postránecký) came up with a sophisticated finance speculation scheme which exceeded the bounds of law. When discovered it became one of the most closely-followed First Republic scandals.

Czech Television has successfully aired two TV movies detective novels by Emil Vachek: The man and the Shadow and Evil minute. In both stories of the First Republic, acting chief inspector Klubíčko detective Tchaikovsky stamping, bachelor, gourmet, collector of old prints, which played an excellent way Miroslav Donutil.

The princes, even though they are not exactly cut out for it, take on the task with all their vigor and responsibility.
