It is the 1930s. Physician Bartos devotedly attends poor patients in the city suburbs, at the same time researching the possibilities of regeneration of human tissues after transplantation. His former colleague Rosen, now working as an assistant at the private clinic of surgeon Kirchenbruch, considers the research a mere utopia. The disappointed Bartos, trying to verify his theories, therefore accepts the outrageous proposal of Marion, owner of a brothel - to surgically replace the face of her lover, the wanted thief Cutter, with the face of murdered Father Hopsasa. Bartos is well paid but his successful operation remains a secret.

A period musical comedy set in a quiet Prague quarter at the end of the fifties. Using the western plot device of the "man from nowhere" a generation gap story unfolds of changing social climate. Polish socialist and Marxist Rosa Luxemburg works tirelessly in the service of revolution in early 20th century Poland and Germany. While Luxemburg campaigns for her beliefs, she is repeatedly imprisoned as she forms the Spartacist League offering a new vision for Germany.

A village shop owner is convinced by his children to move to Prague, where they say he'll be able to enjoy a fine retirement in a modern furnished apartment. Bored by life in Prague with nothing to do, the old man takes to helping a young widow in her stationery shop.

Sixth-year student Eva Martenová falls in love with the new young professor Jiří Hron. She cannot concentrate in his lessons, even though she is as well prepared as ever for teaching. On a school trip, Professor Bruncvíková tries to win Hron over, but the professor dances with Eva at a party. At school, Eva's thoughts are elsewhere again and she refuses to give Bruncvíková Hron's portrait. She goes to Hron's office crying and he tries to calm her down. His friendly gesture is seen by Professor Bernard, who had previously had reservations about Hron's modern teaching methods. He informs the principal that Hron was holding student Martenová in his arms. When Eva learns that Hron is facing disciplinary proceedings because of her, she attempts suicide. However, her friend Martina's brother, Dr. Pavel Haler, saves her. In the hospital, Eva is visited by a vindicated Hron and confesses his love for her.

Set in Prague during the years leading up to World War II, this family saga tells the story of a cobbler named Vincenc Bursik (Vladimir Mensik), who uproots his clan from the country to the city, only to suffer the loss of his wife and the failure of his shoe business within months. The young dude, who can't even make responsible decisions in life, doesn't get along with the group of experienced workers where he started working for a long time. He resents being ridiculed for his not-so-hilarious tattoo, which he passes off as an eagle, but the people around him consider them to be chickens... However, the creators stress that everyone must mature and accept responsibility for their behaviour. However, the exhortative and executionally clumsy work-themed story relies on pre-approved schemes, unable to assert its own idiosyncratic perspective.
